Javanese Fried Rice, Who has never tasted fried rice? We may say that fried rice is a prac­ti­cal food in prepa­ra­tion, cheap and marry, and we can enjoy it in every occa­sion as well. We can find it as a break­fast meal at home or nice sweet in the night.

As you know, fried rice has actu­ally been belonged to Tionghoa’s tra­di­tional food since 4000 BC, and then it was spread by traders over the world. Actu­ally, it sym­bol­izes Tionghoa’s char­ac­ter that they don’t like mak­ing some­thing use­less, which is rice. Then, they processed it back cre­atively. They mixed rice and com­pound sea­son­ing then served it again.

Fried rice has been famil­iar in many coun­tries that it has many vari­a­tions depends on the coun­try and the spices or the ingre­di­ents which is used by the own peo­ple there. One of the famil­iar vari­a­tions in Indone­sia is Javanese fried rice which is usu­ally sea­soned with sam­bal uleg (grinded sam­bal) that makes it hot. Beside, some veg­eta­bles such as bean sprout used as taste appe­tizer of com­ple­ment. Wanna know the recipe?

Javanese Fried Rice Recipe

Ingre­di­ents:

  • 1 tbsp cook­ing oil
  • 1 stalk of leek
  • 1 plate of rice (about 500 g)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Blended Spices:

  • 6 chilies
  • ½ tbsp of roasted terasi
  • ½ part of tomato
  • Com­ple­ments:
  • Slices of omelet, slices of tomato, slices of cucumber

Direc­tions:

  1. Heat cook­ing oil, cook grinded spice in lit­tle oil till it is fragrant.
  2. Add leek and rice, mix them.
  3. Add some salt and soy sauce, mix and cook them at high tem­per­a­ture. Serve it with the complements.
